 RECOMMENDATIONS

I started working with Brett in November of 2018 to build my bar and bottle shop, Crafts & Drafts NC. I have a history of being detail oriented, so by the time I met Brett, I thought that whatever architect I hired could just take what I had come up with in terms of drawings and formalize them; easy peasy.  Boy, was I wrong in that thinking.  Brett was instrumental in pointing out a number of areas that I hadn't yet thought of, and also making sure I was making the best choices given my budget, timeline, and type of business. He worked as a single point of contact so that I didn't have to reach out directly to the engineers with any questions I had as I thought of other items I wanted to add, equipment I wanted to switch out, or lighting schemes I wanted updated.  Even after our drawings were approved by the city and construction was under way, Brett was considerate enough to answer questions that arose as I played with the idea of tweaking some of our original plans.  If you're looking for a kind, responsive, top-notch architect that's an absolute joy to work with, Brett is your guy.

BNP Architecture worked with us as we designed our bakery/café at 406 South Driver Street in a historic building in Old East Durham. The building had been long neglected and required a great deal of work to transform the space to accommodate our business. In the midst of our renovation, we needed someone to jump into a project that had several complicating factors. BNP Architecture displayed great efficiency at our request providing a prompt proposal and immediately diving into the background context. Despite a complicated and sometimes cumbersome process, they were able to guide us to permit plan approval and their work has proven to be of great quality. Brett is personable and understands other small businesses, as he himself runs one. We strongly recommend his architecture services to any other local enterprise looking for architectural services in Durham.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Brett Pulliam on a renovation project for our store, Southern Season, in Chapel Hill. He came highly recommended from our general contractor. BNP Architecture was contracted to produce permit drawings for the renovation. He was very reasonable, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I was impressed with the speed at which he produced the drawings. His quality work made the process very smooth. There were no issues with the permit office and no revisions needed. I would certainly use his architecture services again and will gladly recommend him for anyone’s consideration.

As an architect with a solo practice, I have been working with Brett for the last year. He has been creating construction documents for many of my larger residential projects. He has been a valuable asset as a sounding board and in his practical knowledge of construction. Brett approaches design with a pragmatic sensibility which translates to saving clients money during the construction process. I would highly recommend him for any project, whether residential or small commercial. He is reliable, listens well and always strives to do what’s best for the client.
